A question for member LO23, do you know who was the first owner of your car? Sorry if it was already stated and I missed it. I finally built a car project with the wife's encouragement, I strayed from the Mopar family but it follows the "little car - big (compared to stock) engine" formula. the power to weight ratio is approx 7.7Lbs per HP. Not in your league, but a huge jump for me. I will refrain from mentioning the manufactures names unless compelled to do so!

hey JC. Good to see you back for a visit..Your on the faithfull returning list for sure

Congrats on your venture. Good luck with it and most importantly have fun with it!!!!!

Hi Daryl,

Sorry to say that I won't be able to make it to Mopars in the Park. Have fun! By the way, silly question maybe, but I've always wondered- when you guys rest the hood on the roof panel, do you put some sort of blanket under it to prevent scratches? Mine is just primered, so I am not overly concerned, but just curious..

Just noticed this appears to have a vinyl top on it. You can see the trim and if you look closely near the back glass and the edge of the hood on the roof, you can see the seams in the top!
Also look in the lower left corner of the rear glass and you can see what looks to be one of the lower seams there.

Hey Clint

I have some weatherstrip type of foam that I taped to the underside of the hood. The stuff you can buy at a Hardware store for sealing doors & windows in houses etc.

Thanks, Charlie. Yep, I have this photo and a few others with this paint scheme of my car. It seems Liteweight's car isn't the only LO23 shrouded in some mystery. As best as I can tell from piecing together personal accounts I've read online, and the photos I have unearthed, my car probably wore this paint scheme briefly when it was owned by Stan Antlocer, who I believe owned it briefly after Dick Smith, and just before Jim Keyes (who I bought it from). I know that my car was stolen at some point early in it's life, either when owned by Dick Smith or Stan Antlocer, and rumor is that there may have been some sort of insurance scam involved with this "theft", but I have no solid evidence of that. Jim Keyes told me he thought he bought the car from Dick Smith, but it was a long time ago and he wasn't certain. He remembered the car sitting on a trailer outside an apartment building or something, and that it where he bought it, after seeing an ad in the local paper for the car for sale. I think he probably bought it from this Stan Antlocer, who unfortunately died a year or two ago. I have the authenticity report from Galen Govier, and I don't think there is any denying the authenticity of my car being Dick Smith's real LO23 Dart, but there is a hazy period there with the ownership... Anyway, glad I own it now!
