We support it because of the survival instinct. There's no good choice for us guys. Yes the Democrats are pushing agendas that will hurt the oil industry, but there's a lot more to this battle than one industry.
And I fully agree with your previous statement about firings. Boy could I tell you some stories. The union sit in on new hire interviews, and even with the best intentions, some of our new hires turned out to be real duds. We tried like heck to get problem maker/lazy new hires dismissed before their probationary period ran out and they became members of the union. But our company had a big heart, or sometimes just laziness, and it was tough to get them to unload people. Once they became paying members, we were forced by law to represent them. Our membership did not want slackers, far from it. If one member did not carry his weight, the guy beside him, or even another shift did. The ones I hated most was when one member was against another member. I remember when a fight broke out between a maintenance worker and a production worker. Both of them very good workers. The plant manager came to me and said " This is a UNION issue. " You fix it !

Grey Ghost doesn't say who is talking about, but I'm thinkin president elect Joe Biden. Who said he is a billionaire? I did a quick search and got this from Forbes.

In all, Joe is reportedly worth $9 million at present, which is significantly more than earlier in his career. This number, from Forbes and calculated in 2019, is based on a total portfolio of $4 million in real estate (Joe and wife Jill Biden own two homes in Delaware), cash/investments worth $4 million, and a federal pension worth more than $1 million. The Bidens released their tax returns from 2016 to 2018, which showed that they paid about a third of their income in taxes in 2017 and 2018 ($3.7 million and $1.5 million, respectively), and that they donated a significant amount to charity in 2017 and 2018 ($1 million and $275,000, respectively).

Wut?

One other thing Randy, just so you understand, the "Bosses" don't vote. I got 1 vote, just like any other member. You being a member, I assume your International might have had some other way, but all the ones I'm associated with vote by memberships. The entire membership is the only one that approves, disapproves, or votes to strike. The union bosses are the ones negotiating the contracts, and they have the final say in what is brought back to the membership, but the membership decides the outcome and can turn down the proposed contract. Those negotiators are elected, so even that is rank and file decided. There is a lot of misinformation on these subjects, and I like to explain so people get the low down ...It's really amazing to me, when only 10 % of America is unionised, that such effort is put into eliminating what is left.

All of that I coming under the Biden regime Randy. I have lived in Florida my whole life. No one in my family down here is in the union or has been in a union. My dad was nuclear physicist and worked for General Electric, He made a six figure salary. My sisters and I all make 6 figure salaries and only one of us has a degree. Hard work snd dedication is what it takes to be successful. You have to make your boss or company owners some money. That's what make business go. The company I work for rewards their employees for longevity and production. There is almost no union in Florida. The unions here are like a temp agency. Most unions here are catering to the government. Teachers, fire fighters and some police depts., Maybe bus drivers.
