Got to stick my slow dumas nose in,,,WTF does the auto factoring system really do any way??? And for the cutting tenths off the index do to??? The system doesn't work,, period as far as making anything equal amungst classes. I know,,,go spend Thousands of $$$$$ to make my car go fast so I can stand around and tell everyone,,,"I got 6 quarts of oil,120 lbs in the trunk, got 18° timing and let off at half track.. I just don't get that rule....

Well some on here say "work on your stuff", others say go fast but protect your combo, some say this is performance, but hold back anyway, some run it out and then get another combo, some are struggling to hit the index, while others want to lower it, some say it is class racing but then others want the quickest 64, some have extra cash some don't, some say if you can't handle the fire get out, but then they don't want to be burned by the same comment, while others call out others, and then some complain about AHFS, then we have the "run it out the back door and suck wind", and lest we not forget that NHRA can make a car really fast (FFFFord 302) or obsolete. Isn't it fun to know that you can be whacked in all kinds of different ways. So what is the answer. Deal with it. Soon you will be old and die, or maybe young and die, or just get a headache and complain. It is racing, have fun, or don't. Silly Humans.

Please don't nuke this thread!!! We have a serious issue in Stock Eliminator and it's the AHFS as to the limits that it puts on racers for working long and hard, unless your Barry Parker and have millions of $$$$,only to be penalized for making your combo run fast!!! And in the long run its the slower guys who will ultimately be penalized because of their budget.
Add 2 tenths and make 1.40 the limit, but only for you might get inspected for running that fast.Im sure 1.40 is attainable by quite a few and it would be fun watching you guys go that fast.

P.S., I didn't say I like this idea, I said that it would straighten things out in a hurry.
Talk about smoking the tires across the finish line this would look like a forest fire!

I hate to beat a dead horse but as I have said since the very first day “ the Automatic Help For Slugs cannot and will not ever work “ it takes a person to be able to look at SPECS and performance and decide if a combo is properly rated. Any system that allows us to manipulate the numbers (as was the purpose of this thread) simply cannot work ...

And I’m not that smart 😏

I would add where class is run class winners and top qualifiers fill field, then run them off their index no breakout with ahfs.

Here is my take on this, moving the indexes does nothing it moves it for ever one accomplishes nothing except make slow cars pick it up. Moving the triggers only helps the fast guys from getting hp and not letting the ahfs work at all. The biggest hinder on the ahfs is NHRA posting the spread sheet avg that helps everyone control the avg's. Lets go back to the root cause of the main problem factor the car right. Yes the ahfs does not work fast enough. When a car can get hit with hp 4 times and still be able to qualify #1 then some thing is wrong. So NHRA if you are listening quite giving info to the fast guys to help control the avg's, make the hp hits harder more then 3.25% at a time. I am sure i will get crap over this, this weekend at the races.

If NHRA used 1/8th miles numbers WITHOUT telling anyone it would work.........

Back on page 2 of this post when I said lower them by 5 tenths I meant lower the amount under the index by 5 tenths (to .70 under) instead of 1.20 under gets you automatic HP and a free trip to the tear down barn !
