Keep it going! If and when you do look for shocks, the circle track guys have some HD options for the Mustang II's. try Speedway Motors or similar. I'm thinking plain old stock replacements will be adequate.

Don't know about anyone else but I'm over the winter weather here in the midwest. I'm real ashamed to admit that, I haven't much more than touched any of my stuff since before Xmas. A combination of this crappy weather and averaging about 60 or so hours a week at work, just don't have the drive to come home and work in a "cold" building. I do have heaters but going to work at 5:30 or so and getting home between 5:30-6 in the evening, by the time I get the shop warmed up, take care of home jobs and eat, it's time to get some shuteye and start again! UGH!!

We have gotten some parts and pieces acquired thru selling off old parts and trading/wheeling dealing other old hobby stuff. Thanks to a Craigslist ad, found a set of 15x3 4 lug front wheels. Found a few other things thru Ebay, Racing Junk and other websites forums. Found a pair of 15x8 4 lug ConvoPro wheels, an MSD distributor and an Moroso WP.

Got our 4:62 rear end assembled and ready. Just need to get the rear pulled apart and get it installed. Can get started on the traction bars at that time as well.

For the price of a roadtrip to Kentucky and a (very) small outlay of cash, we found another set of heads and a 2 barrel intake for a 1977 engine, gives us the option of moving back a year if necessary. Add to that trip we also got a box full of SBF parts and pieces, always need parts and pieces, especially when we started this with nothing for Fords.

A buddy of mine found a C-4 manual valve body that he had purchased and never used from an old project. Told me come get it. He's also an Autolite carburetor wiz, offered to help get the 2 barrel squared away when we get to that point.

I guess things are falling into place. Just no real dirty hands work.

That's awesome to hear Robert. Not that your not getting anything done...just that I thought I was the only one tired of getting up at 5am and going to work in the dark and then coming home in the dark and after everything was done, look at the clock and say "9:30....ah crap I'm not going out in the garage at this time of night when it's -20! LOL!

My only good news is that I work on what I can a dinnertime at the shop. That is, when I'm not working through dinner because we're behind on something.....

Good to hear your still sourcing parts though, that IS something.

Robert, If you ever want to try a 4.11 I have a complete third member with a mini spool you would be welcome to try. Also is your 8" one of the "beefy" ones that looks like a mini 9" with the extra webbing on the case? Tom.

Yes, the housing I used for the 4:62 was the beefy housing. I've heard these referred to as "War" housings. Like the 9" version they have the extra ribs. I believe some 9" housings actually had this cast into them.

I seriously considered building a 4:11 at the same time we put the 4:62 together. I have another spare rear available. I might take you up on that at some point in time. Be interesting to see what the difference in time might be if I could hit a T&T at Raceway or Muncie. Don't you live just up the road in the Smith Valley area?
