FYI, Running a Rambler, A Body 8.75 rear end is a bolt in deal. Same width as stock rear end and also Chrysler trans make this a better combo. I wish I was futher along with mine, short block is together and car is basically complete. D-stock automatic Duster's eat lot's of money. If I can be of any help just let me know. 6 cylinders RULE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

awww, if it makes ya feel better, i've got a 69 2 dr post that's getting a mustang II front end and a sbc/4speed/9".
well, the front end is in it anyway...
i'd rather put an amc in it but i can blow up a few 350's....
i DO have a line on a couple of 343's though.

i'm with you, i want to build a six but this trans thing is getting to be an issue....
i'm NOT gonna run an automatic!
the car'll be slow enough and i'll fall asleep by 1/2 track if i run an auto

if we've got any tech guys on here that can straighten me out on the six cyl/4 speed thing, i'd sure appreciate it.
btw, if i DO have to use a 3 speed, anybody have any suggestions?

Good tip to know, the rear was gonna be a crutch on the Rambler.

Anyone know where to find floorpans for a Rambler by the way? I think mine might be bad or close to it...I pulled it out of the snowpile to give it a lookover this afternoon, the body is real good but the floors feel soft...didn't have time to pull the mat up, and it's supposed to storm here again for a few days...

'69 rambler 2 door post here also, its currently a garage ornament...

do a google search & you'll be amazed @ the amc stuff out there... i think Galvins rambler parts has floorpans for the americans... however i've seen a javelin with the interior out of it while it was being restored & its floorpans look awfully close to the same as the americans & would almost bet money they are the same .. doubt amc spent the extra money to make different floorpans for cars that have the same wheelbase & finding javelin floorpans might be easier

The stick combo would be limited to a 3 speed only.
