You need an ultra bell if you want the cracking issue to go away for good. Even with the brace the factory bell will still crack.

Would you use the brace with an ultra bell?

I wouldn't bother running it. Drop the trans pan and you'll probably find evidence of a torn-up rear sprag with small pieces of rollers and springs in the pan. Common event when you tear the rear out.

If it was a violent break on the starting line you definitely better look. I have broken one 350 and one 200 planetary that way.

You probably won't be able to tell if the low/rev sprag is on the way out , that way.
It needs to be inspected physically , at least annually, in my opinion
High maintenance item on the 200.
If anyone knows of an upgraded unit, I'm listening.

Its weird. car launched great, wheels came up way higher than normal. 330' time was the best ever, then BANG! gears were lost. pulled over as fast as a I could to the wall, checked for leaks, towed to the pits in neutral.

What kind of performance gain can someone expect by going from 2:74 low gear to a 2:91 in a 74 Camaro running stock eliminator with a 350 and weighing 3740lbs.
