Default Re: Glide or 3 spd stick?

I had a 65 Chevelle wagon with a 283 4 speed and a 66 4 door Biscayne with a 4 speed stick. The Biscayne was legal with the 4 speed and a 283 2 barrel engine ( it didn't run real well but was legal). Did they change the rules since the dark ages ?

JRyan, Jerry i talk to Gene today, he said the reason he quit running this combination was because it got hp, Gene said it was legal to run a 4 speed in a 66 Malibu wagon 396- 325 hp. Tom

OK. Thanks Tom. I had heard the other way, but there's nothing like getting it right from the source. I didn't race for several years, and I never did see that wagon run at TVD. I stand corrected!
