Wow.
I did not know it paid that much to qualify.

Kind of reminds me of the "Start and Park" drivers on the Nascar circuit.

They qualify, start the race and make one lap, then load the car into the transporter and head home.
Some of those drivers make a decent living finishing # 42 or # 43 at those races.

For me, the effort to qualify and the tension watching the field narrow is part of the fun

A 128 car qualified field is about the only part of a Performance Class that we have left. It's not T ball , everyone does not get a Participant Trophy. After all, the U S Nats is the Super Bowl of Stk/ Ss class racing. In the Stone Age, only Class Winners were allowed in the eliminator . M.J.

No making it all, qualified removes the reward of winning class in a way. No ones fault for bye except NHRA having too many classes, dividing up the racers. I Agree with no liking bye runs or combos but fix the, reason don't just create another dial
in to run. Too many fast cars one just Win class.

That's the way you AH guys wanted it. you told NHRA that you're special, normal super stock rules should not apply to us, we don't want to be penalized with weight cause we want to go fast, we want to cut our valve cover bolt holes in half if we want to. just hit our index so we can keep going faster. You got what you wanted now deal with it.

Jim,Jim, Jim, easy boy. Do not group ALL SS/AH racers together like that. I race a hemi car because I always wanted one, (most likely like you) not because I think I am special or deserve different rules. I like to support the class at Indy, but I would rather race in the normal eliminations. Peace!
