Re: The Fletch
I would consider Dan to be on the list of the Best active "Sportsman racers" .......And when he is retired we will see just how many races, wallys and money he has totally collaborated in his time. Lets not get into the bracket racing thing cause thats where he started not where he finished. Also Dan im sorry about your hero Michael Jackson.

Re: The Fletch
I believe that any of the young men mentioned in this thread (and a few others) qualify as "Great"! Anyone that doesn't think so should give up their job and try supporting their family on the monies they earn racing!

Re: The Fletch
I appreciate everyone's kind words...
I just want to jump in here to thank John Gunn for helping me last weekend at Lebanon. I broke a rocker on the first TT with the Comp car, and, lets just say we aren't the most well funded comp operation out there. Our one spare rocker wouldn't adjust on the cylinder that broke, so I had to start swapping rocker pairs to get things to work. By the time I finally got things lined out, I found the needle bearings were on the way out of another one. Gunn took my broke pair (and my soon to be broke pair) home and made one that would work. I was most likely dead in the water without his help. Thanks John. Got to get off the computer and put my *** in the truck...1600 miles to Denver is calling... |

Re: The Fletch
I'll second what Marty just said....On the topic of "bracket" racers. Ask any of them which is harder. A true "bracket" race, or running s/ss. 99% will say class racing is harder. Reason being, there winning championships at the same track year in year out. There not driving to 15 different tracks, making passes on say Friday and Saturday, then have first round Monday. (thats what happened at The Rock in the fall of last year). Just think about it.........................Dan the man,,,,i know your good...3 IHRA nationals last year i have the losing slips lol....atleast it wasnt 1st or 2nd round lol...Good luck drive safe to denver...(i aint working you need a co-pilot?)
