Re: Live from Columbus-NHRA Lucas Oil Series
SuperStock just got their first hit -- not only was it slow but the left lane is junk - several racers tried to hit the tree - as usual they did nothing - yes , I was on the starting line to witness it .
Did I mention the weather -- the DA is past 4100' and it's only 10:45 am .And believe or not the skies are getting dark . Stock is out fourth -- by the time we get out nobody will care ...............And for those of you hardcore fans - take note - National Record runs are today only .................. Ran into Billy Baker this morning and had a nice chat - made me remember all the good times I had with his dad -- I sure miss him ..............Dick was one great guy ! !

Re: Live from Columbus-NHRA Lucas Oil Series
Stock just finished and as we expected it was extra slow and most 60's were off three to four hun and et's are anywhere from 1.5 to 3 from Lebanon Valley LODRS - the only point of reference I have .Weather ? What weather - the DA is over 4500' and how about the Vapor Pressure - past 1 full point - never saw that before .But its not raining ............
Almost forgot - I know I was kidding before about National Record runs but one of "those" Mustangs just ran three hundreths off the record ..............'gotta get me a 'stang ! ! !

Re: Live from Columbus-NHRA Lucas Oil Series
Yes...the weather is miserable there, indeed. Just wondering if it is harder to breath there than Denver! ROFLMAO!!
Did NHRA allow gills to be utilized for race cars at this race? No? Make sure everyone thanks Jay Hullinger for another great job of scheduling the worst time to be in Columbus Ohio..... He should be a dead beat dad on Halloween this year...or Einstein..Which ever is clever.... I hope nobody gets sick there from the weather..Be careful everyone... Re: Live from Columbus-NHRA Lucas Oil Series
Stock just got their second hit - air wasn't any better but some went a few faster because the wind had died down ......

Jack, thanks for posting the photos. Could you get a couple of Jerry MacNeish's D/S?

Re: Live from Columbus-NHRA Lucas Oil Series
Nice dinner outing tonight with Jack, Billy Nees, The Wenzel family and me piled into the Duromax crew cab. Long Horn Steak House. Food was excellent. Then it was off to Hey Man's Ice Cream Stand near the track. (Hey Man was the name of Timmy Bishops 1959 Chevrolet race car..........little race trivia here.........
Tomorrow night, Pizza Cottage, Hotter than the hinges of he...........here. If it gets any hotter, they'll be issuing pitch forks! Stick shift row is full. Gary Tompa went back to the hotel after his 2nd qual shot (about 2:00PM) to check on his stock porfolio.......... Jerry |
