Re: Original hemi dart information
Correct on Dick Smith.
Dick Smith and the Hemi Dart were at the 1968 Super Stock Magazine Nationals at New York National Speedway in 1968. Dick also ran a 1965 Coronet 426 Hemi 'Fuel Injected' AWB car at Detroit Dragway in 1966 and 1967. 'FIREBREWED' Dick was an AHRA-contract racer (ie; Detroit Dragway and New York National Speedway). Here is 'FIREBREWED' in 1967. Last edited by Paul Ceasrine; 01-26-2013 at 09:17 AM. |

Re: Original hemi dart information
Ron Mancini got his Hemi Dart from Gil Clark in 1969. That car became the Irish Rover, as pictured above.
The yellow Dart pictured above, was owned by Lou Mancini in the late-70's, and was the subject of a magazine article (Car Craft?). That car was originally Charlie Lendrum's if I remember correctly? I know the car came out of central PA, went to Western PA (Car of the Rising Sun), back to central PA (Where Tom Hoover found it), and then to Lou Mancini in Michigan. |

Re: Original hemi dart information
Correct,
Ron Mancini bought Gil Clark's Hemi Dart. Both Gil Clark (Toronto) and Dick Smith (Detroit) were AHRA-contract racers in 1968. |
