Joe DeMarzo and Billy Marshall got me hooked up with a Hurst Quarter Stick shifter and once I got the feel for it , the shifter is working perfectly. My trans shift forward, so I hit it for Second, then grab and hold the lever and make the 2-3 shift. just make sure to let go of the lever once you've made the gear change. If you hold the stick and rock it slightly, you can unlock the neutral gate and go into neutral.
Thats worked for me , and I hope that helps you.
Have a Good Day!

On the ppp there is no positive stop from 2-3 shift .It would be nice if there were a positive stop like the cheeta !

Your friend chose poorly, I would never use that shifter but many do.

I've got the forward (push) shift PPP for a C4 and the reverse (pull) for a Protrans 727/904. The forward shift doesn't have a positive stop for 2nd gear despite having a lip on the detent pattern. You may be able to adjust the spring in the handle or find some other way to make it a positive stop, but mine's an air shifter so I never really cared.

I found that if you just hit the lever with your palm or finger--like a slap stick shifter--it'll go right into 2nd gear and not skip to 3rd.

What is the proper method for accurate adjustment?
The primary check is for full travel from park to the opposite end of the shift pattern. Then verifying that all forward gear positions are in a relaxed condition is recommended.

Had this exact problem with one I worked on. PPP showed less than z-e-r-o interest...never returned multiple calls, emails, etc. Tossed the junk original spring and sourced some spring stock from McMaster Carr. After a bit of tinkering with spring length and preload...problem solved. -Al

heard the same from many that had issues over the years and this is why I never considered this shifter when I decided to swap out my Turbo Action Cheetah shifter 4 months ago.

I also considered the M&M and Motion Raceworks shifters which are available for both 2 and 3 speed trans, both very nice and made in the USA.
