This kinda reminds me of the time Woodro ran into lake in Florida. Surprised they didn't require floatation devise on all.

Has happened more times then people know, it just finally got seen on TV this year. and it wasn't a super high HP deal. I get around 3-5 calls a year telling me they found part of thier ring gear missing off a welded on ring gear and most of the time it is a SFI flexplate.
You can get a SFI mopar flexplate for $60, But I agree flexplates without ring gears should be excluded.

I'm checking now to see what is available for my application, that is made in the USA. I refuse to buy Chinese or other imported junk.

1984, 305 Chevy with 2 pc RM seal, and 153 teeth. Having a difficult finding something that says made in USA.

John, have you tried ATI? I recently got one from them and it seems like a very nice piece.

My question is how they are going to enforce this ruling. I would think a GM application would be the easiest to check due to the bottom of the flywheel being in open air. However, some Ford, and I believe all Mopars have a fully enclosed bellhousing. So at the first division races next year are there going to be random checks? Jack it up in the air if you have a GM, and take your starter out if you have a Mopar or Ford to see the sticker? Personally, I'd put more trust in my way out of date Pioneer flexplate that was made in the USA than a new one made from chinesium. I have heard mixed reviews on ATI flexplates with regards to torque converter fitment.

The only flexplate that I know are made in the USA are

Meziere FP301 (billet, no welded on ring gear)
ATI 915539
JW 93006

All internal balance
