Unreal .. Ron

Certainly like to extend congratulations to Mr. Turk on an excellent pass.
Having said that, it's absolutely and unequivocally absurd. Stock Eliminator drivers are living vicariously through these ludicrous factory combinations. Why not 180? |

The original concept of drag racing was to run as fast as possible within the existing rules which is exactly what the Factory Showdown cars are doing. Chris Holbrook has run 8.10@168 in his Cobra Jet Mustang, David Barton 8.07@169 in his COPO Camaro, and now Geoff Turk 8.02@170 in his Drag Pack Challenger. These numbers show that the 3 brands are all competitive which is appealing to the fans. The fact that they run these incredible numbers on 9 inch tires just increases the appeal. To me, it doesn't seem to be absurd in any way, shape, or form. We may just have to agree to disagree.

Huge congratulations to Geoff Turk on being the quickest and fastest Stocker in the history of the NHRA - 8.02@170! So close to that magical 7 second run.

He is not there to bracket race with stockers IMHO. Just there to lay down a run and try for the 7's. Next year most of the SC cars will be on their own. So what is the problem? Nice run for Turk and crew.
