Well maybe I'll have to save up some money, those trend lifters look real nice. Alan, I can't find P-55 anywhere on the cam or cam card ? Am I looking in the wrong area or ??? Also, on the Trend site, I couldn't find a hydraulic lifter, they look like all solids. Did I look in the wrong area ?

There is nothing wrong with regular hydrallic lifter for what you are doing. Keep it very simple, like it was mentioned here. As long as you do not go over 350 open pressure, a standard lifter will work well for you.
Like Billy said, you are going to be running this engine under or around 6000. Make a bunch of cylinder pressure and torque. Good luck, and enjoy the ride! |

What about the Sherman lifters? The "dwell" lobe you are talking about will benefit from the restricted compression lifter.

Dwight - On the wolfeperformance website, almost none of the links work & it looks like they are the only retailers. Do you know if they are still in business ? I'd like to read a little about those.
Alan & Mike - Is the Trend "Low movement lifter" what you were refering to ? Todd & Billy - The bracket motor that I had in this car had 215lbs. cranking compression & worked well with a 2 bbl. Is this in the ballpark ? Thanks All

Not sure about the Trend lifter, most of the restricted movement lifters are solids w/ .015 movement. Check w/ Trend

Limited movement lifters have been around for a long time. Racers created their own for years before the commercial lifters became available. Trend, Sherman, Schubeck-style, PPP and others have products that work. You can make your own by modifying OEM style lifters with shorter springs, sleeves that fit inside, or fixing solid lifters to act like a hydaulic.
