If you are the quicker car and want to "block" out distractions, make your blinder larger and bring it closer to you. Make a blinder that had a up and down slot in it, to block the other side of the tree and some of your porifial past the tree. Just a thought. |

Pacific Raceways out here in Washington runs due West and late elimination starts can be brutal. I hung a cheap amber plastic visor from my roll cage window bar and ran velcro strips across it. Cut another piece of plastic and painted it flat black with the other part of the velcro on the back. I can move or flip it as needed with one hand.
Make me quicker? No. Keep me out of the wall? Yes. Dale

I use several different blinders, sometimes it's the car in the other lane, sometimes it's someone in the stands and then other times it's the starter.

I flip the shield down when both cars are prestaged, and normally have the shield flipped back up before the front wheels come back down after launch. It has helped my concentration on the starting line tremendously since I started with it about 5 years ago.

well, Its going to take some getting used too, lol! I didnt have it notched for the pre or stage lights, just wasnt enough time or runs to try, i think it will help to see those instead of blocking everything, cause how i did it today was have my head to the side to see when i was in and when he was in, then i went back to the right to block everything on the tree but bottom bulb, I think it throws me off, not seeing those stage lights, First time .160, I was rattled as i thought the starter wasn't going to let me use it , but he was looking for my number on window, second run, 097, 3rd .077...then second round, was racing a slower car, and was on the two step too long waiting and when it came on it was .203 lol..., then 1st round of a guts gambler, was .077 again, this time in left lane for the first time, i think once i get used to realizing that light is my go light , it will get better. Its just all new and seeing that light come on, and tell my brain to tell my left left its go time!
