Mike Coe's 340 stick car has to be one of the fastest 340 G/S cars out there.

Gene Buell parked car a couple years ago to go 4 x 4 ing in his jeep. I believe it went 10.2's at C/SA weight four or five years ago. and it still will! He let me look at it as long as I wanted (I bought him dinner) when he set record in Vegas and was very 100% legit and the real deal. I'll stop by and see if I can talk him into bringing it out again. In my opinion it has been fastest small block mopar for about 10 years. His Demon was in my opinion the fastest for the ten years before that week in and week out.......although mine managed to sneak by it now and then.
Mile Coe's cars are always very fast for the last 20 years that I can remember and always the best finished and detailed I have ever seen! I am ashamed to have mine parked anywhere near it ! Last edited by GTX JOHN; 10-21-2010 at 01:58 AM. |

Correct me if I'm wrong, but Mark Leichook's car is a Big Block, not a 340. JB

No, it is definitely a 340. I've talked with both Brad and Mark previously, including visiting with them in the pits at Indy.

I recall seeing "Pettis", or something like that, lettered on his car.
John, It would be nice to see the car raced again. I've always had a soft spot for Challengers because a '72 was my first car. Being a 340-6 T/A makes it quite unique. |

Very impressive numbers, you could do some Vette hunting in G/SA with those numbers, knew Lowell runs a Whitaker motor but wasn't sure about your car. Coe's runs at altitude and all the other variables make this entire list very impressive.
