I would maybe have 1 race, NOT 2 races on a Holiday weekend. example: Memorial & July 4th. Just pick 1 race.
I would give Englishtown the 1st points race May 1 I would put Epping in place of Cecil County in August. I would switch the Atco & Englishtown events at the end of the year. Atco Sept.11 Englishtown October 1 just my .03 cents. inflation..... Pistol Pete |

The current schedule really does suck balls. Why is there 6 free weekends between Lebanon Valley and Cecil County, then too many races for 2 months? Who is in charge of this? And what happened to having a representative in each division? Wasn't Evan Smith our guy for Division 1 a few years ago? What happened? Who can we talk to now?
Why is there no race in Numidia? Why so many at Atco when there is nothing but problems? I don't miss Delmar. I haven't been to Cecil County in probably 5 years because of several reasons. Epping would be great. I vote for not having a race during July 4th weekend. I always hated traveling during that weekend. And I usually miss some good family outings too. 2 day races would be great, but I don't see that happening anytime soon. Last edited by David Barton; 10-04-2010 at 09:52 PM. |

I know that I bitched to Dave Mohn about the scheduling of the Atco races because of the times of the year and the bashing of the comp indexes as a result of racing then. He told be that SS/Stk liked those times because it was fast then and that the problem with Numidia was low turnout at the opens. He also indicated that getting dates from the tracks were not easy either. However, i wouldn't be the least bit surprised if the October race at Atco goes away, particularly if there is bad weather for the makeup.

Scheduling looks easy and I thought it was, until I actually had to do it for our ASRA races. There are many things that come into play. Tracks have lots of things going on, they have dates that they have used for years for shows and that is their bread and butter. I agree that the space between Lebanon and Cecil is a long one, but , tracks want to get as many cars as poss. and racing in mid July thru august is not that popular.
I am thankful that we have as many tracks in the northeast as we do. Seems that the vocal minority loves to throw a track under the bus when things go wrong. Please Please keep in mind THEY AREN"T BUILDING ANY NEW TRACKS , so work with the situation best you can. I like all the tracks in our division, but they are all differant and require a diff. approach sometimes.

And we had the thread recently about NHRA's board taking away our voting rights. That
decision is looking better every day.We are our own worse enemies.

Ed and Dave, I see your points! I love racing in the Northeast Division as much as anyone! But I just have not seen the commitment to provide us with the best racing surface and facility lately as I have seen in the past!
I don't know about you, but when I'm out there trying to win, the last thing I want to worry about is track conditions and whether or not my car is going to make it safely from the starting line to the return road! We all pay $170 to enter these races, so shouldn't we be provided with the best product for our money??? I just don't feel that is happening these days.......for whatever reason! Ask yourself this.........What improvements have you seen done to any of our tracks that actually benefit the racers? |

Seriously,it seems like these latest incidents have to be looked at.It needs to be determined if driver error, weather, track prep (including compound problems),track condition and possibly equipment failure and lack of maintenence on our cars are causing these incidents. That goes for starting line issues. This needs to be done by the Div 1 staff and track owners.
