Michael , thanks for the reply. We are currently building a Patterson powered 434 ci ls7 fuel injection motor to run over in another heads up class. I really like the gang at NSCA and look froward to racing with you guys in the future in this class. I looked at it last year and fuel injection was not allowed . Glad you guys added it and we will see you at the Cecil county race.

Very cool! I'm looking forward to seeing you run the class. I've very impressed with your car.

So who wound up going the distance at Atco?

Even though I didn't win a thing at the event: THANK YOU to the NSCA for allowing Stock and SS cars to race at your events. I appreciated the open time shot session on Saturday morning, it gave me a chance to find new ways to go slower...lol. Hopefully I can make it out to the Cecil race in June along with the rest of the Stock Elim. racers who can't run at Englishtown this year.

The track weather showed rain all weekend, what happened? Nobody posted any weather info., or more cars would have attended.

Info from the weekend

We have a forum on our site for each event where we post information.
The weather really wasn't an issue. There was a shower on Saturday afternoon and the third qualifying session was cancelled. Otherwise, it was cloudy and windy all weekend and that was it.

I watched the Weather Channel Sunday morning and it was solid green. Funny thing is I got one hell of a suntan in the solid green rain that day.
I guess we can come to the conclusion that either we conducted the first known drag race in the rain and were too dumb to realize it, or, the weather men are poor at predicting weather.
I long for the day's when we did what we intended to do without having to consult the internet and/or cable TV. Seems like we had more fun back then, and we got more things accomplished.
We will be at Cecil County next month on the 23rd and 24th. Do yourself a favor, don't consult your computer.

I would like to see someone post, on this sight, what the weather is at an event when rain is a factor, as it was this past weekend. If someone posted the conditions, even on Saturday morning, a lot more cars would have been there. NSCA at Atco was probably the one race I didn't want to miss. With gas/diesel at $3.15 a gallon, and hotel rooms at $120.00 a night nobody can tow for ? hours and sit in the rain, to be sent home. Please help the racers out when it comes to communication. I will be at Cecil County. Thanks for your attention to this matter. I hope the NHRA pays attention to this for Maple(MUD HOLE) Grove. P.S. PAVE the PITTS!!!

Mr. Warehime
I think Tony is correct about the weather broadcast misunderstanding. I have been at Edgewater , standing getting a tan and my daughter called and told me to load up as the storm would be there soon. (according to the weather channel) I enjoyed the race day and NEVER saw rain.
We cant depend on the TV to really tell us how to run our life to a 100% level of accuracy. I think it might help decide if we need to water the yard today but not sit inside by the tv. We need to get outside and commit to having a good time in the sun shine we have at the moment.
Also about reporting from the track, if it is raining at 8 am does that preclude the day of racing? its like a oildown, it can be corrected and then back to racing. If it is sunny and someone arrives to see a sprinkle is that bad reporting?
Cant write off the week end for a 1/2 hour sprinkle....besides its where your friends are telling stories and enjoying everyone for the day.
Have fun while we can.....

It's very difficult to stop during a race to post weather updates, however several racers did call the track and then proceded to the event. Diesel fuel was $2.61 per gallon, the host hotel rooms were $59.95 + tax per night.
I understand that it is much more expensive to race this year than it has been say five years ago. Having said that, I'm afraid that it's not going to get any better, this is what we will be facing from this point on. I think that if you give it some thought, you'll agree, $3.00 to $4.00 fuel is here to stay.
This leaves you with two options: either sell your car and quit now, or figure out how to save money in other places to pay the addition fuel costs.
I find it interesting that when leaving the track and passing a steak house, it's always full of racer rigs. I don't know about you, but it's hard to get out of that place for under $25.00 per person. A few ham sammy's could make up the difference between $1.95 fuel and $2.95 fuel real quick.

Yep ,I hear you,... just trying to work on something to maybe get some more S/SS cars to these NSCA races. They are always a good time. We need those additional options. Mother nature is diffacult to predict. I was disappointed when it rained out last year. So ,who won S/SS ? LOL!!

Mr Warehime,

Please find below several links to weather websites:

http://home.accuweather.com

http://www.weather.com/

http://www.wunderground.com/

http://www.almanac.com/weathercenter/

I am sure that Tony has a couple of things more important giving weather reports.

Just trying to help.
