My Uncle owned the old DeFrank and Cohen SS/AA Cuda many years ago. ....We used to take out the 9" and put in a 12 bolt when he needed to go fast. ....at that time, [mid '80's] the 12 bolt was worth almost .05-.08 secs..........as far as I remember we never hurt the 12 bolt. ....Tom

John Friel also used a 12 bolt in his SS/AA Dart......He was running low 9's back then. I think it's pretty common thinking that the 12 bolt is quicker than a Ford or Dana.....

Mark Williams used to have center section to go in 9'' that used 12 bolt gears was for reduced drag, may still make them.Even with right clutch stick still harder on rear due to impacting gears on launch where footbraking gears are loaded when you launch they don't get smacked like a stick or trans brake does.

Actually I think it was Strange they still have one. He developed it for FORD MOTOR Company for the NASCAR Program to be used for the resictor plate tracks for qualifying BUT NASCAR banned it befor it could be used as I remeber there was a lot of testing done on it by the Fords Teams!
