We have had the 3 step on our N/SA wagon for nearly 20
years now. We have Zero Valve train issues. However, it is a 318 Mopar.

I’ve never used a stepper in the box, that’s what the tack is for plus it’s bang bang into third see a little smoke and walk it out. Besides the box is for cleaning the tire not to get hot, you think that tire is holding the heat all the way to launch? Goodyear explained this 35 years ago. My 3 step is for ‘other’ things.
