Good morning - Best thing I can say this morning is that Spring is back as the high today is to be low seventies - cloudy and at this moment I can hear pitter-patter on my roof .Nothing huge is expected but it might delay the start this AM.

Yesterday was terrific here at Cecil -yes it was hot but super conditions for sure with the track being in the best shape i've ever seen here .On the flip side of things the q-sheets really don't show the true performance of the Stock and S/S cars in attendance because of the large amount of 1000' passes. This 'new' way of controlling the fast cars isn't working - just making it boring. Hope the NHRA is listening .

This morning when we get started it will be juniors then SuperStreet followed by Stock.

Later ................

If you multiply 1000 (feet) X 1.19, it gives a good indication of what the 1/4 mile e.t. would be.

I don't know if I agree with this for all cars.Last race of last season,I went 9.14.
According to your formula, that is a 10.87.The car was about 2 tenths slower than that.

A good point. I just looked up 2 runs of mine. (Street/strip car, NHRA chased me in the 90's.)
11.39 1.607 60' 9.520 X 1.19 = 11.328
11.40 1.608 60' 9.523 X 1.19 = 11.332

If multiplied by 1.20 -
11.424
11.427

I guess the formula is sensitive to a car's potential, plus, multiplying by 1.19 or 1.20 makes a substantial difference.

I was thinking NHRA could use a formula to determine what a 1000' foot run would be 1320 feet, but it appears it's not that cut and dried.

Thanks

P.S. Sorry for the hijack.

Question Re: Live from Cecil County,MD NHRA Lucas Oil Series

A few minutes ago the storm hit and I'm not sure how long it will last but the place is soaked .Never saw so many racers move that fast .Anyway S/S got their first round in and SuperStreet was running their rd2 when the rain came.

The last time I was down there (Memorial Day weekend, last year)…there was a 20-30 minute shower, and they called it for the day. The story then was that they didn’t have a track dryer. The rain check is still in the console of my truck.

NHRA has the 60' 330' 660' 1000' 1320' ets and MPH's plus the car weight for ever car ever pass. If they wanted to they could tell if the 1320 et is slow, they could even tell if the person lifted before 1000'. They could even calculate pretty close HP for the run.
