Re: Low Turn out for Indy?
I will give you my opinon on the low car count. Before you bash me I don't have a car so save the key board hero stuff for someone that may care. I have driven to indy from North Carolina several times just to watch class runs in stock and superstock and leave, never watching a pro car make a pass. As a matter of fact I spent 5 days at Indy last year with my brother who has a SS/GT car and never watched a nitro pass. The new qualifying to get in on monday and class win means nothing has hurt the car count for Indy in my opinion. Any idiot knows a Gremlin, a 265 chevy, or a pinto wagon will have a hard time racing on monday. The line up for superstock and stock will be GT cars and new sheet metal. My brother has ran SS/GT for years but my heart is in traditional stockers and superstockers. I wish NHRA would wake up, there are still a few of us that enjoyed going to Indy to see each class with cars in it. Don Jackson

Re: Low Turn out for Indy?
I think it's a combination of many things 5 cars for this reason, 8 cars for that reason, etc, etc.
The combo thing, the qualify only thing, the low class win money, the high costs to get there and race, the length of the race. And NHRA's hurry up and wait policies.

Re: Low Turn out for Indy?
Numbers for both Stock and Super Stock are coming up, 163 in Super Stock and getting close to the 128 number for Stock. Realize many of the SS/AH cars will bail on the regular race but still looks like it will probably take -60 to get in. 30 under may get it done in Stock. I'm having some difficulty exporting the entries to excel so I can sort by class and such but will try again later today...of course you can't tell which of the new cars will run the FS/S class but class on Thursday and Friday will be a treat to watch...

Don't count out some of the older combinations just yet...just because we are slow does not mean we do not know how to drive or how to make our cars quick against the index... |

I have a pic of your pinto that was taken at Indy and Charlotte. I love the car and hope you the best of luck with the W/S class win. Hope to see you at Indy. Don Jackson
