Re: Can not believe winner of best engineered at E-Town
There are lot's of Cobalts. I am sure his is nice, but they still don't stand out like a topless cutlass.

Ok....my Turn.
I Wasn't Going To Post Either But Here It Goes... I Presented The Car To The Nhra Tech Per There Request As Thousands Have Done In The Past..AT The Time That I Presented It, I Had No Idea Whom Else Was Considered..lets Answer Some Questions 1st. 1) Yes, It Is Not New..it's 3 Years Old 2) Yes, I Did Do The Work In The Garage With Help From Others. 3) Yes, It's Not A Corvette.Thats fresh.. 4) Yes or no, I Think My Crew may or may not be Bad Luck.. 5) Yes, I Was Considered Years Ago And YES, I Did Not Win. 6) Yes, It's The Only One Out There That I Know Of. 7) Yes, thanks to thumbprint for all this... 8) and YES AND NO TO WHATEVER ELSE??? There Are Some Persons That Think I Should Have Won And Some That Don't Think So..that's Ok .you Can't Make Everyone Happy..People Have Set This Up To Be My Car Against Asta's Car..I Presented My Car To Tech, Let Them Look At It And Left..Later Asta's Car was in the Same Area Being Considered As Well. Plus There Were Other Vehicle's Considered Also besides us.. Asta's Car Is Sweet. I Spent some Time Looking At the Atco points race and At Englishtown. John and I have known each other for years and I sure that It will Win Races and/or awards In The Future..no Doubt in my mind..IT IS A WELL ENGINEERED AND DETAILED PIECE AND HE'S A DAMN GOOD DRIVER TO BOOT. Re: Can not believe winner of best engineered at E-Town
I thought the award was for "Best Engineered " ,,, Not new and Fresh ?
I also think the award is well deserved , regardless of how and when it was built. For a guy to do it him self with help from his friends , is quite impressive ! Isn't that what Drag Racing / Hot rodding is all about ? Just in case anyone is interested , I have the pictures from start to finish ( I was thinking about doing my Cutlass the same way and Derek was nice enough to supply me with all the details , instructions and pictures !! ) Anyway ,,, DEREK , congratulations on your award it is well deserved !! SST1828
Everyone is fine in Div. 3 land , most of us are healing our wounds and egos after the Norwalk race ,,,, which by the way was a Great One !!! As far as the topless Cutlass ,,, I'm thinking about it ,, maybe over the winter ,,, right now I'm attempting to win a round or two I usally race a couple of Div. 1 races and Derek is one of the few folks that make me feel really welcome and always takes the time to stop and say hello. (That may not be a big thing to a lot of traveling sportsman , but when you are out of your division and look a little different than the majority, a fellow racer stoping by and offering his help is a big thing and means a lot ) Colorful Racer |

Re: Can not believe winner of best engineered at E-Town
I have a couple things I would like to say about this.
First...Thanks to everyone who has congratulated Derek and us. This was a lot of fun and not to mention long hard work to do and it is great to get the compliments from all the fellow drivers, crew and true race fans that appriciate the work and time that goes into this. Second...Asta's car is awesome!!!! I would not have had a problem if his car would have won the Best Engineering Award. And I think I can speak for the other crew members when I say that Asta's car will win a lot of races and awards. Third...I want to thank Derek for throwing his 2 wonderful, underpaid crew members under the bus!!!!! THANKS BUDDIE!!!!!!!!!! Since we have been fired, the 2 crew guys are available to help any team out there, Derek will provides transpotation for us to the track. Later all, Disgruntled Crew Member |
