Re: National Records
They used to put record breakers on the bottom of the results. Also didn't some tracks give a jacket for the record setters?

Re: National Records
JMO if you get selected for teardown at any event, for instance like I did at Indy 2022 and are above the record in qualifying/class eliminator, you should be given the record.. Brian Seaberg 627

Re: National Records
My thoughts on national records.
1. Records are set at points races. 2. During qualifying you place an "r " on the window as we've done in the past 3 If you achieve the record and pass tear down all your runs for that event do not count towards the ahfs. If you fail to set the record all the runs count towards ahfs. 3. Each racer can earn 10 pts once a season for setting a record. |

Re: National Records
I really think many tech officials look at setting a record at a points race as a burden. I used to set records every year, but it’s something that has lost its value to everyone including NHRA. I do not regret the time of setting records, as they were great times. Tear down was a major right of passage for me for records or getting picked by tech officials

Re: National Records
The only place to set a record without hurting your combination is at National Opens. I don't know about other divisions, but in Division 7 the National opens are in the summer when tracks are slow and we usually don't run until after junior dagsters around 11 am. Good luck setting a record in those conditions.

Re: National Records
When I last set the record (2011?) I didn't get a picture or even a line in the results in Nat Dragster. NHRA hasn't cared much since then!

Re: National Records
Well that’s a start, but not a place to set a record. 12 sec cars have a difficult time getting down that track. Hopefully a natl open at Redding???would provide a better opportunity to set a record
