If you're able to run it, it would be a natural J/S car at 12.78 pounds per factored horsepower. You could add or subtract weight to run one class up or down (K/S or I/S). If the one you have is a Performance Package car, they have larger/heavier front brakes than the non Performance Package car. Have you driven it? Last edited by 6130; 06-26-2018 at 10:51 PM. |

I want to see Ecoboost Mustangs heads-up racing Ecotec Camaros. Stick only and we could call it Jr Factory Stock. It would sound like a swarm of mad bumblebees

I don't think the GT350 (or it's flat-plane engine) is listed in the NHRA Stock Classification Guides, and it's only available as a stick-shift.

I didn't think it was either. I think the ecoboost Mustang would be a fun ride. Stickered at $35,000 isn't that bad either.

Very true. I think this is the top of the line package. Orange Fury is the color.

The "Premium" Ecoboost Mustang starts at $30,860. The Orange Fury paint (which I like) is a $495 option. And the "Performance Package", which adds 19" wheels, stiffer suspension, 3.55 Torsen diff, bigger brakes, and a few other odds and ends, is a $2,495 option. This option would make it more fun as a street car, but the extra weight would not be helpful for a drag car. I'd pass on the "Performance Package" and put that $2,495 into things that make it go faster. |

And I'd run the numbers before purchasing the 4.09 ring & pinion- the power peak on the Ecoboost engine is only at 5,500 rpm. First gear is so deep, that you'd have a pretty steep launch ratio even with the stock gearing. And turbo engines tend to be more tolerant of taller gearing anyway. |
