Re: Mopars Little A Body Terrors...
All V-E-R-Y impressive looking builds.
And you're correct. That "340" would have been a "beyond cool" street racer back when street racin' was cool. |

Re: Mopars Little A Body Terrors...
My son was about 6 years old in 74 when he rode down the strip with me in my 72 Demon 340. It had a cheater cam with headers and a 4 speed. It ran 13.50's with slicks. Today he has his own BB/727 car, it runs low nines with nitrous. He says he was inspired by that ride. Like father, like son. Picture is from Monster Mopar Weekend at Norwalk. He is on 10.5" slicks. Stock front end, calvert springs in back. He built it all.

Re: Mopars Little A Body Terrors...
Anyone have info or pics of John Dianna's Duster? I remember it as being a pretty scienced out piece for back in the day. It ran in Modified, so it had all the tricks, including some very special heads for that small block,,, not sure if he ran it as a 340 or a destroked combo, with a 5-speed, if I recall correctly. I'm sure theres an issue of Car Craft that covered this impressive A-body. I see Hemi Moose posted a pic on post # 52, way back when. Maybe someone on here recalls it or was around the car.

Thanks, Charlie. Its not often I see fenderwell headers on a Duster. John's car was a little screamer in its day.

Fired the 340 today! It sounded really good. There are some issues that need to be resolved, but was able to take it for a short drive, the last one was in 1969!

This one runs points at Indy. Chet Gibbs son, James. He won the Pro class today. Still has the cool stainless trim at the front of the wheel opening.

First time the A56 was back in my home town in 45 years! This photo was taken in front of the old post office. The 'Cuda set here many times 45 years ago. My uncle was the post master.
I attended a local car show, made a 260 mile round trip, the car ran great! And I got a trophy! #5457 Curt Rees
