I think I have a solution to all of the arguing...everyone build their cars the way they want, run any class you want to, till everyone from each class goes up against the Pro classes...ever wonder if a stocker can take out a pro stocker, or a super stocker run against a funny car or top fueler...wouldn't you like to beat John Force or Tony Schumacher for the title of " World Champ" lol.

Thumbs down Re: New cars, old cars and horsepower ratings.

Check out how Larry and Patsy Hill feel about the new cars in A/SA on their last post under " Live at the Sports Nationals ". The new stuff is just plain WRONG !

It isn't all new cars! Sure many do have a advantage, but what other car do you know than the 345 challenger who has gotten more HP in a shorter time. So the AFHS works to a point. And in time, newer technology logically should have an edge.

But putting Supercharged cars against naturally aspirated cars is simply bad for everybody except the Companies who field those cars (now Ford and GM) and what do you think will happen now for them?

Now that Ford doesn't own the playground any more, they will both start taking HP hits.

Will that level the field? No, but the field was never level for very long. And expecting/hoping that it will eventually balance out is wasted expectations.

It all about the Benjamins. Money talks, and fair racing walks. If all three companies were pouring in the same amout into the NHRA, there might be some level of fairness...Or maybe not.

Right now, it is, what it is.

David, how's the AHFS working in SS when your car runs the same index in stock and super stock with minor weight difference 11.00. Tom

I don't think that a car has gotten 100+ HP and is still crazy fast shows good things about the current system...

The guys that run them are much more impressed with those cars than anybody else.

Jack, not kool aid, Knob Creek. You know that I agree with you wholeheartedly. The problem is that NHRA doesn't. My whole point is that if these new cars can run these motors that never came in them, with bogus factors the older cars should have that same advantage. These new cars need to be in their own class. As one of my good friends said in 2008 they should be in F/X classes.

[QUOTE=Todd Hoven;347919] Anytime we ask for help on parts its a big no. Everybody in the eliminator has a replacement aluminum head except for round port Pontiacs, and I bet the castings we have to buy are more expensive than anyone else in the eliminator. ]

Todd: I've had the same issues on my 455 Olds. The thing that's crazy is in Edelbrock's own catalog, it says the Olds head is legal for Stock, which is not true.
