Those picures are awesome.....Jimmy WAS larger than life itself.....I was with him a little in 1985 the day before he won Stock at the Gatornationals. He had not raced that Stocker much and told me as we hung out in the lanes to move the car up in the lanes, ....and make a run in case he doesn't get back in time from wherever he was going!!!! I never even sat in the car and was totally unfamiliar with it! .....A Typical Jim Harrington story !..... I was crewing for my good friend Dave Schapiro and we lost early in S/G.....The race was postponed due to terrible weather if I recall right and we left and headed home to NJ........On the way home the next morning we heard by phone that Jimmy had WON Stock......We stopped along the NJ Turnpike and it was very cold and I just shook my head in disbelief when I heard "The Foot" as we called him back then had won......He was unbelievable........I have more stories but so would anyone that knew the big guy.......He was great.....I will surely miss seeing him even though we were not close friends....

Shutting down 4 lanes of 1-80 on a Saturday is certainly classic JIM.. I snapped a photo of it. There must have been 75 or so cars in the funeral procession. (What a great final round!)

Everything at the wake - from Jim with his JEGS fire jacket on.. to the huge Dragster shaped flower piece, and another flower piece shaped as a shoe - was a great tribute for a man who left us with memories of a life time.

Hard to believe that it's been a full year since we lost Jim. I still think of him often and won't ever forget all the good times.

Jimmy and i were everyday friends since before he even had his driver license and while there are some great stories of adventures and mishaps even back then

I will always remenber all the great opportunities he gave me and the places i got to go with him that i would not have been able to go to without him and i truely know how he wanted to do the best for everyone

R.I.P. I think of you everyday
