When I tell it to Quote your attachment, it tells me it is a turbine ring from a 1953-1959 dynaflow transmission. And yes, I cheated on the Cheeby air cooled engine too! I was going to guess it was from a transmission, or possibly a headlight ring from a Chrysler. There was a period when Chrysler liked yellow anodized trim and the discoloration looked kind of close to that anodizing. I sort of remembered the Ford wagon tail lights but had a little help on that one.

Sort of takes the fun out of it, doesn't it?
I would suppose this topic is now a dead puppy. Last edited by Charlie A; 08-26-2012 at 09:54 AM. |

I'm glad I didn't shut the thread down with my cheap bypass methodology. That dynaflow turbine would have been near impossible unless you worked on those things. That ring must be a lot bigger than it looks. I found a photo of a converter apart and that thing must be 12" in diameter or maybe more.

Okay lets see that would be 2 out of 4 questions answered correctly...it started life as '63 426 Max Wedge Savoy that was converted to an Altered Wheel Base...here's the rest of the story on it.
