Default Muncie trans help

Can somebody tell me if the shift fork shafts that go through the muncie side cover can be changed from the ones that have a stud to the ones that use a bolt to hold the shift arm on? I exchanged the ones with a stud for the ones with a bolt with a friend who was restoring a 66 nova. When I tighten the shift arm down, it binds on the sidecover and won't move. Is there a difference between the two shafts.
Thank you,
HQS

HQS,
The 64-68 Muncie used the "stud/nut" set up the 69 and up used the "bolt on"
shift levers. Be sure you don't have a mix/match deal going on there with the shift forks
and side cover. I bet that is your problem. I hope this info helps and always remember
"shift happens".
Good Luck, Reggie
