Default High Speed Miss?

Anyone else out there having a problem with the MSD missing going up against the chip more than what it is suppose to or missing going down the track in high gear? Been chasing this gremlin for a while on the car, and still can't get rid of the miss, but it is only when we bring the car up against the converter or when the car is in high gear under load. Any opinions?

Go Back to Basics. Check for Ground for the MSD Box. Recheck the wiring installation for proper grounding and Change to a different chip if using the analog type MSD Box.

make sure you run a ground wire from the head to the block ----a ground wire from the engine to the chassis ----a ground wire from the MSD DIRECTLY to the battery and also the chassis ---Check all your grounds make sure they are CLEAN--no rust, paint crud etc. These things get real finnicky at rpm can have you chasing your tail for months See if this helps--also try another RPM chip see if it has not failed they do go bad every now and then-Swap out YOUR MSD box with another box you might have a bad one-

..... and if that fails, check your tach........ I've heard of a lot of guys that couldn't find a similar problem until they unplugged the tach........

I had this same problem these issues can be very frustrating mine ended up being the High rev RPM port was bad no matter what chip I put in it would do the same thing than I ran a couple runs without a chip and the problem went away. I sent the box to MSD got it back after they said it was repaired put a chip back in and it did the exact same thing finally I just replaced the box and never had a problem since.
