Thumbs up A Stick Challenge Results

Just wanted to say thanks to all involved in the A stick Challenge. We had 6 High Quality Cars come out to do battle in A stick! I would say that all of the competitors came with the intention of going for it and they did. In the final, The McFarland Team prevailed over an awesome Shelby "Team Adkins" and ruled the day.

Every team was appreciative and showed a considerable amount of respect for the others. I know this is typical of most class racers and we should not forget that! We can go for the throat on the line and go for a beer together afterwards.

Just to recap, Brett McFarland has earned over $800.00 in cash and approx $725 in reward items.
Richard Adkins has also earned over $200 in cash and reward items.

Here is the list of supporters from the A stick Challenge!!!!!

Adkins and Bailey
United Manual Trans Racers
Joe Veronda ( I/Stick)
Fischer's Align a Wheel- Greening Family stock superstock racers
Terry Bell
Mike Keener
MoneyMaker Racing- Alex
Ralph Porpora
Brian Tilberg
Jim Schaechter
John Corcoran Stock Superstock racer
Cometic Gaskets- Kevyn Kistner
R2c Filters
Advanced Clutch-Rob Youngblood
East Coast Drag News (Bishop Bros)
21TEK- Rocky Jordache
The Car Shop Inc- Tim Ryhard
Larry and Patsy Hill

Maybe we can do one out East next year. I am willing to help coordinate if there is interest. Remember, I am just a schmuck Stickshift racer, there is nothing stopping you from picking your favorite and going for it.

Some interesting notes:

Troy Henderson scrambled to get his engine freshened to come to this A stick challenge. He and his Dad Larry came out despite having no time to test. They did an awesome job with the clutch, they grabbed the track even in the afternoon. (Maybe Fred Johnston could have helped LOL) They even bought new underwear for Tim Nicholson when he had a left leg cramp- don't ask.

Tom Baird came in and made Indy as an alternate

Ralph Porpora coughed up his own cash to help out and also got his engine builder Brian Tilberg to kick in.

Richard Adkins and Lydia were probably the most humble and appreciative Runner up finishers that I have ever met.

Jason McCormack- Tons of power and a nice guy.

Brett McFarland- Punished the time clock. This car is on the top of it's game! Brett also went through the teardown with no issues at Indy. I did not know this, but that car was originally raced and owned by Eric Wingo.

Thumbs up Re: A Stick Challenge Results

Congratulations on winning the A Stick Challenge Brett! It was a pleasure to meet you at the Bradenton LODRS earlier this year.

Thanks for making this happen Jim and thanks to all who contributed - what an awesome field! I hope to make it to Indy with our I/S car next year. Before we take the car up there, we will need to pick up a bunch to get in the neighborhood of you, Brack, Cook and some of the other great I/S'ers. We're working on it!

Tim Bishop was on hand at Indy to report on the A stick challenge. Check it out. Jim.
