Default Borrowed Bracket Car

I borrowed a bracket car for our July 13th points race, a very rare night race for our track. I must thank the Price family for the use of their Chevelle while they were back East Jr. dragster racing.

I have never driven this car before & was hoping just to get out of the 1st round. Anyway, I made it to the semi-finals & screwed up. I had a .007 light to my opponents .09x light. I got rid of what I was holding & wanted the stripe but failed slightly in taking it. In hindsight, I realized that this 10.4x BBC doesn't make a distinct move like our ProCharged car when getting back on the throttle.

After borrowing this car & doing well.

I decided to try the transbrake button in a similar position in our car. While I wasn't totally comfortable with the position. I did well enough with it to try it out in our car.

I have always had our button mounted on the passenger side of the drive shaft tunnel.

Anyway, the button test change will be to the right of the steering wheel coming off the dash. Probably not the right time of year to be experimenting; oh well, it's in the works!

You might try all of your changes with a practice tree hooked up to your button - saves a lot of time

It has been probably 20+ years since I have had a small practice tree hooked up in the car. I do have a full-size tree that was given to me but needs a control box & LED lights to be operational.

I have used a small handheld practice tree since, but not hooked up in the car.

I appreciate you suggesting to me about testing the button on a practice tree!

While I had my issues driving this year, missing 2 races & borrowing a car for one race. I managed to finish 4th in points this year. Thanks in part to the two race cars used this year that took good care of the driver!

On to the Div. 7 bracket finals next week. Hopefully the driver does a better job.

It seems we have 100 cars entered for Vegas to make-up 2 teams for the bracket finals.

Bracket racing is alive & doing well for the left coast.

This is our rig parked early for the bracket finals. I've owned the trailer for almost 3 years & I finally was able to use the awning; plus use it for 3 days straight.

Anyway, the racing went pretty well but no wins. Of the 3 races I won 4 rounds in the low roller gambler, 5 rounds in the team race & 4 round in the Summit Showdown. I did make it into the money on the team race.

It was a little hot & above average but overall, a good event.

I forgot about getting into the money. I got the check in the mail today. It was a nice reminder & more than what I thought it was going to be.
