Default Mid Atlantic Season Finale at Cecil County - Sept 7 & 8

Time to close out the 2024 season and crown the champs before we start to work hard on the 2025 schedule. Those who are not on our e-mail chain and are unaware we will be cutting back to 4 weekends of racing in 2025, leaving a weekend off. I think with the economy the way it is and the number of other races going on that living by the philosophy of "less is more" will hopefully get more racers to our events.

September 6th to 8th - lets PACK THE PLACE!!! Some of you racers are getting a month off (Not going to Epping) and if you're not doing Maple Grove or Charlotte your next race is 2 months away at Virginia. If you are coming from out of division and need to get a ratio....come run with us at Cecil the weekend before....no membership fee is required!

Let's get out there and support these independent series, we don't have quotas, and 2 races cost less than one National Event!

2 races for 1 tow - Race Saturday & Sunday!

Gates will OPEN at 5pm Friday - if you arrive earlier then 5pm, please find the local Wal-Mart or Flying J to park till the gates open at 5, please don?t block the roadway as this causes a traffic issues. The size of these rigs Cecil can only hold a max of 2-3 rigs total in the holding lot for both gates, let?s all work together to make this smooth so we can host future events at the track! If the gates open earlier I will inform you!

Friday T&T (weather permitting) runs from 6-10 for $30, $15 crew / spectator fee - gates close at 10pm sharp.

Gates reopen at 7:30-8am (if there is a cone in front of the ticket booth, wait there till the gates open, don?t drive around and park) racing is to kick off with Juniors at 9am on both Saturday and Sunday! $50 gate fee for .90 and Top 32, Juniors are $20, spectators are $15 per day. The MA fee is $100 for .90 & Top 32 plus optional $20 Calcutta and $30 for Juniors.

Here is the rotation for the Sat & Sun Races - this will be a 1 TT and go on both days, some might ask why we are giving Top Sportsman & Top Dragster a Q2, we unfortunately still have a race from Maple Grove to finish for them that has some points players involved that after it's finished could mean a championship for some.

Also, Kevin Cooke from RFC will be there to host a Non-Denominational RFC Chapel Service on Sunday Morning at 7:45am, we plan on having cars going down the track at 9am so we want you all to be able to go to service, warm up and be ready for that 8:45 call to the lanes for the 9am start.

Ken, sorry I didn't see your post. The MA Stock / SS Series is run the way Dave ran the East Coast Stock/ SS Series, same rules.

This is the rules posted for the United Stock/SS Series

1. If time allows we will have a driver/crew meeting prior to first round of qualifying.
Attendance is not mandatory. Listen for track announcements for when and where.
2. Cars that qualify to run this series must be American made production vehicles, between
1955 and 1975. Cars must use engines consistent to manufacturer. (Ford/Mercury must
have Ford engines; Chevrolet ~ Chevy engines; Plymouth and Dodge - Mopar engines;
Pontiac - Pontiac engines etc. etc.). Both big and small block engines allowed. Internal
engine modifications allowed.
3. Cars must appear "PERIOD CORRECT" to the following classes; Stock, Super/Stock,
Factory Experimental (F/X) Altered Wheel Base (AWB) and Junior Stock. Minor body
modifications are allowed, such as "cowl" type hoods, period correct fiberglass body panels,
and period correct factory hood scoops. Pro Stock, Snorkel or Tunnel Ram Hood Scoops
are NOT ACCEPTABLE. All cars must retain factory correct appearance, including door
handles, bumpers, grilles, head and taillights, etc. Said items can be of fiberglass/lightweight
material (matching original pieces). All cars must be carbureted. Electronic fuel injection (EFI)
are NOT acceptable. NO superchargers, turbochargers, nitrous oxide, or other power adders
allowed. Period correct appearing port-style fuel injection allowed on F/X and AWB cars only.
All forms of Starting Line Controllers including pneumatic and mechanical are prohibited. Full
tube chassis cars are strictly prohibited.
4. All cars, drivers, and driver's safety equipment must meet N.H.R.A. rules, and pass
technical inspection at the racetrack. Throttle stops, delay boxes, stutter boxes, cross over
boxes are strictly prohibited. If these items are in your car they cannot be used. Trans
brakes and two steps allowed for stick and automatic cars.
5. All competitors must report to appropriate staging lanes when called in a timely manner. All
races will be run using a .500 sportsman full tree. Qualifying positions will be determined by
drivers best reaction time, which is recorded during qualifying and eliminations. ?Deep
Staging? is NOT allowed. If your car is deep staged during qualifying or eliminations, as the
starter activates the switch you side of the tree will immediately go red. No elapsed time will
be recorded. (This known as the Blue Light Setting).
6. Something new has been added recently it is known as ?True Start?. Instead of the first to
red-light being the loser, the system will pick the worst red-light (if both cars go red) and the
win light on the scoreboards will show the winner of the run. The tree at the starting line will
show red in both lanes. Now if only one car goes red it may get a little confusing. Please ask
any track official to clarify it to you.
7. Drivers will select their "dial-in" for eliminations (i.e. 10.26, 13.57, 8.96, etc.). "Dial-ins" can be
changed between rounds. "Dial-ins" must be posted on the side window that faces the tower. "Dial
ins" must be clear and legible for tower and track personnel to enter your correct "dial-in". "Dial-ins"
can not be changed once vehicle is past the "ready line" (prior to the water box) during eliminations.
"Dial-in" limited to 14.00 and lower (faster). All drivers MUST verify that "their" correct "dial-in" is on
the score board or the small indicators behind the starter before pre-staging. Once you stage your car
the "dial-in" on the score board is yours whether it's the correct one or not. There will be NO reruns
because an incorrect "dial-in" was entered.
8. Eliminations will begin with random pairings. The #1 qualifier receiving a "bye" run if there are an
odd number of competitors for the first round, and lane choice if there is an even number of
competitors. In subsequent rounds if odd number of cars are scheduled, the car with the best
winning reaction time will be pulled aside (bye car). If there is an odd number of cars, the bye car will
get the bye, if even number of cars, the bye car will run the last car in the lanes and have lane
choice. You will only get one bye run per race. Random pairings will continue each round, until the
field is reduced to sixteen (16) or less cars. At sixteen (16) or less cars, the pairings will be run on a
sportsman ladder. The ladder is generated by the computer in the tower.
9. Acceptance for participation and competition is based solely on the Event Director's discretion.
Inappropriate or indecent conduct will not be tolerated. This series was created based solely on
the idea of having fun, "Run By Racers For Racers." so let's all have fun and be safe out there.
