Default Re: Ppp shifter clean and relube?

My PPP shifter has been acting up on the 1-2 shift going past 2nd so disassembled it either it needed maintenance or was worn out

The original lube was full of dirt cleaned it all off everywhere

Don't mess with the handle unless you have some patience.
Used Super Lube silicon grease as the assembly lube
Soaked the cable in trans fluid for a few days
Re installed making sure alignment and adjustment are as instructed.

Initially my impression was the spring that pushed the rod/disc up needed to slow down but with bench testing and in the car before and after the shift lever needed to speed up. That must be why PPP states most problems are in the cable.

Must be a PPP shifter thing, never had an issue with the Turbo Action shifter in my Firebird no mind the OEM shifter in my Chevelle.
