Re: Metric T-200 issue
The shifter lever was loose on the trans from wear and a washer that did not fit. I fixed it, it’s tight now
The shifter cable is not in good shape I bought a spare cable when I owned the car and still have it It’s going in now All this stuff is close to 20 years old now so it’s no surprise It is a zillion times more difficult to work on this car than a dragster that’s for sure. But I already knew that ! Lol I need a lift but that’s not happenin !

Rich, you don't need a lift, you only need a buddy with a lift. LOL

Re: Metric T-200 issue
It took over a month to get back out to see if anything I did made any difference and the answer is a big NO
New shifter cable, tight shift lever, proper adjustment, good fluid level all added up to no real improvement on the 2-3 shift that flares the rpm a lot Time for some changes and pull that trans and I?m not sure what direction I?m going with. Whatever I do will take some time to get done

Re: Metric T-200 issue
Yes I did and I also said T-200 trans builders are few and far between
That?s the main problem, you aren?t going to be able to get one done in any short time going by what users tell me. I was hoping for a better outcome but knew i was probably treading water The way I?ve been driving along with how erratic the car is, a better trans isn?t gonna turn on any lamps Gotta lot to do before that could happen

Re: Metric T-200 issue
Nothing negative about my comment. Rich knows his way around a race car and all things mechanical, he knew where this was going with that trans.
Rich, maybe it was built by STR. |

Re: Metric T-200 issue
Ed when I owned the car back in 2006-2007 the trans in the car was done by Steve and it worked well !
He also did a trans in one of my dragsters that one also worked very well. He's not doing to well these days......Age and illness catches up to a lot of people....myself included.

Rich, have you reached out to Thomas Arnett? He would probably work you in if you could get it to him. I know Kentucky ain't a short ride. Thomas is a great guy.

Re: Metric T-200 issue
Rich, I’m aware of Steve’s medical issues. That said, Steve is a nice guy and I always said a great resource for beginner racers. Unfortunately, I learned that Steve can’t build a reliable 3 speed, at least not a turbo 400 and one of the many issues with my STR built 400 was flaring at the shifts. In 2005 I moved on to arguably the best 3 speed builder and never looked back. Since 2019 I run a glide.
