No, ONE degree is all that's allowed. Wait until you try to get the rocker to comply .

If you installed the larger screw in studs to help stop some of the lift loss from deflection, a racer could regain the correct rocker valve angel relationship. I think

Not if you're trying to "cant" the valve - then the stud would have to also have the corresponding "cant". Think big block Chevy, the valves are angled AND canted.

Well aware of BBC angel a cant of the valves. Spent a ton of money on a 68 427/ 400 project with 290 small plug heads. The car we got was from Wayne Shaw was a 69 350/ 350 car. I sold to John Livingston and he made the Tennessee Thunder car. NHRA made him change doors and put the key on the dash.
We enlarged the hole with an end mill to keep the tap drill from following the path of least resistance. And then spot faced the seat of the screw in stud.

Flash of nostalgia for when rules mattered and a car had to be correct for the year. Little things like a pushbutton door latch and location of the ignition switch were no doubt a total pita but before "close enough" grey areas. No, can't think of a single performance advantage but somehow I liked it better that way.

Certainly must have been far fewer first gen 350 and B B powered, as well as automatic transmission equipped "Z/28" Camaros running in Stock and Super Stock back in the "old days". I still remember when a buddy took his 69 Camaro 427/425 Super Stocker down to Pomona, and the tech guy made him remove the SS emblem between the tail lights, since that was a COPO combination. Or when if you wanted to run a 69 Mustang 428 CJ car as a GT rather than a Mach 1, you needed to use the GT only gas cap. Things have certainly changed!
