PERRY COUNTY TRIBUNE
77 WAR DEAD, 100 wounded and 6 still missing. While Dad was with McArthur in the Philippines, his only brother Roy was being killed in France (1944 Metz France) And this was only one small county in Ohio Too bad you can't read this paper. It lists every solder, where he came from and his family, and how and where he was killed. Roy was killed with Patton's army.

I’ve attended the changing of the Guard at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier several times and noted quite a contrast in the crowd’s demeanor. You can often tell who has served or has lost loved ones. No disrespect to those who haven’t but wish they could better understand what price has been paid for our freedoms. To all my brothers and sisters who gave all, I love and salute you.
