Copper head gaskets?
Hey everyone!
Starting to piece together my combo. I’m going with the 1970 351c 300hp stocker combo for my 70 mustang. Are copper head gaskets allowed? I know the rule book says no o-ringing allowed to the cylinder heads but says nothing about the block. My reasoning for this is they only offer a .021 thick head gasket in copper form for my motor. |

Re: Copper head gaskets?
You can, but don't, they can leak.
You're calculated piston to head clearance needs to be .033" or more. Cosmetic makes gaskets at .027", actually measure ~.030" compressed. I'd use that gasket and leave the piston .008" down. |
