Default RIP Al Wilson

Saw on FB that Al passed away on Sunday from cancer. Never passed an opportunity to visit with him, and pitted next to him at the Baby Gators. Loved racing that little AMC…God Speed Al.

Just read Al's obituary and read he held a Masters Degree from Vanderbilt University and was a retired mechanical engineer. I visited him in the pits at the Rockingham Divisional a couple of years ago. He talked about how he woke up that little AMC and put it solidly in the 12s and made that stocker into a solid .9 under to 1 second under performer. Also talked with him at the Baby Gators this year and he mentioned his cancer battle. Obviously a very smart man. Rest in Peace my friend.

Such sad news. I had tremendous respect for Al with the job that he did with the AMC. My very last race in August 2022 at Bowling Green ,Ky. we ran each other first round. We spoke very little in the staging lanes and I had no idea he was battling health problems. …. May God bless his family ….GODSPEED !!!!
