Default Mid Atlantic .90 - 1 Day Race at Maple Grove - Oct 15th

With the closing of Atco a few weeks ago, it left us scrambling as a series to find some replacement dates to continue and conclude our season. Atco was set to host 6 out of the 10 points races for the 2023 season. Two of the events were already washed off the schedule in April but, the week before the LODRS event and the week after the Keystones were set to crown champions at years end.

Maple Grove Raceway has stepped up to host a one-day event on Sunday, October 15th, 2023 to conclude the season. This will be the weekend before the PA Dutch Classic held also at Maple Grove. We are also working on one more date to hopefully salvage this season and prepare to expand a little in 2024.

• This will be one time shot and go event

• If you come into park Saturday you must park PAST the fuel pumps and there will be a $20 fee to come in and setup for that Saturday. There is NO T&T that weekend (Fri or Sat) as once again they have a track rental for a Grudge event.

• There will be select parking areas for you to park for the weekend as we have said there is a Grudge event Fri - Sat and a car show Sunday that will take up the upper portion by the bathrooms and lower area (where TS / TD park) for the D1 races. This will be roped off so you cannot park there.

• If you are staying for the Dutch Classic the following weekend, you may leave your rigs at the track.
#1 - A storage fee of $20 will apply for the week and a form (located at base of tower) must be filled out in case of emergency.
#2 - All rigs need to be parked on the asphalt area. I will have a map once I chat with Craig to find out where sponsors need to set-up. Once you come back for the Dutch you can park wherever you want (except sponsor row & hemi row)

Thanks to Maple Grove for allowing us to host one more event to close out this season.

So here is a parking map for the October 15th race at Maple Grove, if this changes I will let everyone know. Please READ along as there is multiple important pieces to this puzzle:

#1 - Friday & Saturday is a track event / grudge event called the Cahonez Nationals. We are asking that you PLEASE don't arrive till at least 3pm Saturday to park, no need for you to be there when the gates open at 8am, there is NO TEST & TUNE that day either. I am unsure of how many cars will be there for the Grudge Event but, plan accordingly and try to park smartly.

#2 - Sunday there is a car show with us called Static Struggle, there contract with the track has them taking up from the upper portion of the pits down (by the bathrooms) to the row before the gas pumps start (where the food vendor area ends). If you park in that area, you will be asked to move.

#3 - The Gas Pump row and where the asphalt / gas area is located can be pitted on that weekend but, if you are not a Hemi Challenge Car or Sponsor in D1 you will be asked to move for the following weekend as this is saved for them for the Dutch.

#4 - The Field - As always everyone is allowed to park in the field but, once we are done Sunday, we ask you to please move your rigs over to asphalt, on the stone roadways (not blocking people leaving) or the Macadam near the tech shack. When you come back for the Dutch you can move them back to your favorite spot this includes once the car show is completed and out of there. This is only because if weather hits Mon-Wed we all saw how soft the field gets this weekend and don't want anyone stuck and if the grass isn't dead, they might have to cut it. If you leave your trailers for the Dutch, you must fill out a form at the base of the tower with info incase they need to contact you.

Please let's all work together with this as Maple Grove was nice enough to allow us to have another event and to let us keep our rigs at the location that will host the Dutch a few days later. If you have questions, please contact the track directly.

Default Re: Mid Atlantic .90 - 1 Day Race at Maple Grove - Oct 15th

I got a little more info for the one-day race at Maple Grove as it is now set on where / when the season will end.

Points with the adjusted schedule will be:
.90 Racers - Will count 4 out of 5 races
Top 32 - Will count 3 out of 4 races
Juniors - Will count 4 out of 5 races

Schedule: I can't find a flyer for the Grudge Event online (So look for Pro Stock Gordo on Facebook for info)

Saturday - October 14th - Gates open at 7:00am (We're asking you to please not get there till after 3pm to help get the grudge event running and cleared out - Yes, there is a $20 spectator fee for the day to get in - You can reach out to the track for questions or concerns or find info on www.maplegroveraceway.com). There is NO TEST & TUNE that SATURDAY, it is a track rental for the Grudge race. Gates close at 9pm sharp on Saturday night, after that you will need to stack outside.

Sunday, October 15th - Gates open at 7am

Juniors & Junior Street will kick things off at 9am then we will monitor the rest of the rotation with the temp that day - This a 1 time run only event, everyone knows we are at the end of the season, the sun goes down at 6:30pm so we need to finish before that, so work with us with getting to the lanes when we make the call. Juniors will get Wallys for the last racer left in their age group that day and then we will do our normal deal of combining into 8 cars left on a ladder. We will also monitor a 2nd chance race and if we have time to get that in for Juniors.

Classes:
Juniors
Junior Street
Super Street
Super Comp
Super Gas
Top 32 (TD & TS)
Test & Tune

Entry fees:
Juniors: $20 at Gate for tech card / $30 paid at the Trailer (Cash only) - Junior Parents are $10 or $15 for the day - Check with the track on that.If we do a 2nd chance race that will be $30 but, that is time permitting
.90 - $50 at gate / $90 at the trailer (Cash Only) & $20 optional Calcutta (This will be the last event with the Calcutta as we are getting rid of it in 2024 and doing a 2nd chance race).
Top 32 - $50 at gate / $150 to trailer as we are upping the payouts for this race.
Crews for the day is $15

"salvage this season and prepare to expand a little in 2024" Can you elaborate on the expansion for 2024? ThanX

Unfortunately, with Atco closing we have to look at alternatives for 2024 and new venues. Atco hosted 2 -3 weekends for our series, so we have to look at other options for tracks. Cecil County will most definitely get a few weekends, Maple Grove we can look at a weekend but, the rental cost for a standalone weekend is a little steep for a series, we won't be doing the Stine Race next year due to low participation. We are looking at Numidia and US 13 as well as other options for tracks, we don't want to go to tracks that already have series like Leb Valley & Epping so we are weighing out places that will make it an easy tow and we will get participation.

Been getting some texts & calls about this event and all our events in general so I need to clear up a few things:

Our events are open to EVERYONE, membership is an option to join. We all know some of you between the NHRA tour have limited weekends and want to not commit to another series but, your more than welcomed to come play and test maybe a new set-up youve been working on. You just pay the gate fee then come see us at the trailer to pay the entry fee, we don't take membership out of your winnings if you win / rup. Come out have some fun, see what it's all about and get some early parking for the Dutch the following weekend.

Good Afternoon All,

Here is the answer we’ve all been waiting to hear! We will be racing on Sunday the 15th! Here is the thing, we will monitor the rain that is coming in tomorrow (Talking about an Inch throughout Sat) and how much water the track takes on during that time because it seems to change every hour. I'M GOING TO PUT THIS OUT THERE RIGHT NOW SO NOBODY IS SURPRISED BUT, THIS RACE COULD BE RUN AT 1/8 MILE. I know we hate it; I know it's not what .90 racing does but, we don't need any issues on track after a decent amount of rain and safety is my number #1 concern for you all. So, you have enough time to decide if you want to attend or stay home this weekend based on that decision. A final decision will be made on Sunday as far as the distance goes. As we all know this year has been a rough one all around between weather and Atco closing.

If you need indexes IF WE GO 1/8 Mile:
SC - 5.70
SG - 6.30
SST - 6.90

We have gone 1/8 mile back in April 2019 at .90 Atco after we had about 45 MPH winds and the D1 Race at Maple Grove in September 2020 for all those people to look back in your logs.

Gates will open at 8am Sunday - with the forecasted rain for Saturday, that event for Saturday has already been canceled by the track so gates will be closed for Saturday till Sunday morning so you will need to stack outside the gate in an orderly fashion. Also, with the forecasted rain & rain predicted for early next week unless you feel like being towed out of the field from being stuck - PLEASE TRY NOT TO PARK IN THE FIELD OR TRY TO PARK IN AN AREA THAT LOOKS LIKE IT WILL BE SOFT! We know for the Dutch you probably will have to park in the field but need to give it time to dry.

Thanks all and good luck this weekend!
