Jerry Newsome’s 1970 Challenger
Car is set up as R/T fresh air 440 4 barrel in C/SA. Since the posting of this add I checked the HP rating of the 440/375, it is now down to 332 HP. Instead of a C/SA it is now an E/SA natural class with a P/W factor of 10.24 and an index of 11.70. Last race was Houston National event in March of 2009 and the car qualified #4 -1.04 under the C/SA index of 11.70. Six Pack is available after car is sold or can be purchased with the car.
I believe it a -1.00 under car that will get into Indy. Last run 10.67 @122.08 not to bad for an E/SA Car is painted in Mopar performance colors and it a nice car anywhere you look. I’m listing from memory but I believe information is correct: ProTrans, ATI converter, Turbo Action shifter, 8 3/4 with reinforced housing, spool and axles, Aerospace Brakes all wheels,15 X 10 wheels and 15 X 3 I think Bogart but not sure, Willie’s worked on carburetor, Goodyear’s, Autometer gauges and Tach, blue printed rockers, CP pistons, Comp Cam I think, good rods but I don’t know what brand. Roll bar, great looking stock interior. Car has been on jack stands off of the suspension for years. If anyone needs more information contact me and I will try to answer questions. $60,000 Also 5 th wheel trailer that has been garage kept when not it use since new. I’m mot sure of the floor length but he hauled the car and four wheeler flat on floor. Trailer has winch. 270 99four 4004 Last edited by Larry Hill; 06-19-2022 at 09:27 AM. Reason: HP change it's now an E/SA can run D,E, F |

Larry, did he change the grille and run it as a 70 after the pictures that are on auto imagery? Looks like a 71 on there. The 71 doesn't look like it has the favorable hp rating.

Re: Jerry Newsome’s 1970 Challenger
The car was picked up this week with all the stuff that came with it. The weight bar still wanted to stay close to the floor. The best news for the buyer is the title came from the state yesterday. He has a killer race car with a title.
The family is thankful to Ken and Class Racer for helping get the car a new home. Thanks ClassRacer |
