Can altereds/dragsters sfi spec be upgraded easily?
Guys, I'm not sure that this is the best place to put this question but I figured that more people in the Top Sportsman and Top Dragster forum would be knowledgeable on this. I have plans to purchase a dragster or an altered. I had an opportunity to purchase an altered with a sfi 10.3 cert which is limited to a 7.50ET. That got me thinking about the possibilities of upgrading the chassis to 10.2 cert and alternatively, the ability to up grade a dragster chassis from 2.7c to 2.5c. Thanks in advance for the responses.

I can't give you any advice other than I would probably check with any of the chassis shops I planned on using.

I’m not sure on the altered but the dragster may require a larger and thicker shoulder hoop and a thicker and or larger cage also having a chrome plated cage can be limiting you can look up the specs on the SFI website
The 7.50 cert can be for 4 years the faster cert is annually required. If you want to go faster than 7,50 keep that in mind when shopping for a car, changing the shoulder hoop is a major PIA.
