Ed Quay super stock 3rd gen Camaro question
Racers,
For those of you running or having experience with the Quay short upper bar, do you, or do you not use an anti-roll bar? Adger, do your parts boxes contain an anti-roll bar kit?

Re: Ed Quay super stock 3rd gen Camaro question
My car has been built since 1994 and I have never thought I needed an anti roll bar with it. I have been as best as 1.21 in 60 foot in super stock JA at 3140#.

I have built two of these cars an never had need for an anti-roll bar. Both cars went straight, normally clicking the 60s with back tire.

Joey and Bert, Thanks for the note. Do you recall which front spring you installed?

Re: Ed Quay super stock 3rd gen Camaro question
Larry,
My Red V-6 Gen 3 has long bars (close to equal top and bottom) and it had an anti roll in it when I go it. It was originally built as a small cu in Comp Super Modified class car. As you know the car works. It is very tune-able and works well without massive amounts of preload and adjustment. I'm pretty sure my Quay project car was started long before anti roll was a suspension choice. When I had Gary Medder do the 7.50 cage update he also installed BB and V-6 and Pro Flite mounts and cross members to the SBC set up already in the car. I wanted it to be a versatile platform. I also added the anti roll bar. My initial thought was because of the 4 link bar length disparity and the Quay wishbone set up I would not need an anti Roll. After much "Analysis Paralysis" I had Gary install it. My thinking is: 1. With any combination if it is needed it is already there. 2. It can be tested with any combination to see if it helps or another set up is better. 3. It doesn't have to be used just because it is there ( just remove two links and the bar is a passenger or ballast, disguised maybe) That is my .02 for free!
