Default replacement Stock heads

The 291 castings on my 67 350 Stock eliminator engine are about used up. Of the listed acceptable replacement castings (Dart, RHS, World), is there any one part number that is a better starting point, than the rest. Finding old original castings worth buying, has not been successful. Appreciate any input or personal experience.

Factory 462's and 041's are accepted on that application too.

The small valve ( 1.94/ 1.50 ) 186 castings should also be good.
Check for ex. seat cracks in the two center cylinders and if they are not cracked, those would be about the Best Stock castings to use.
As per usual if you can find a couple of pairs, crack check and flow test then picking the best pair. You should be happy with the final outcome.

If you can find older Dart castings those would be best. Any of the new Dart castings are 180 cc + intake runners. You can't make the small enough to get to 165.

Please correct if I'm wrong but I didn't think any of the replacement heads were legal for a stocker because of the volume numbers . Am I wrong?

They are legal so long as the runner volumes meet the OEM stated requirements. 165 CC SBC intakes are difficult to get down to. 161 CC is near impossible.

RHS heads I don't believe are manufactured any longer?
Hard to understand how some of these heads become approved by NHRA when in fact none actually "in a out of the box condition" are legal.
So a lot of machining and innovation is necessary to get them to pour correctly.
Making it expensive compared to using a good condition OEM casting and you then have no HP penalty.

Some aftermarket castings are accepted with a 5 HP penalty. I have been shopping for a pair of untouched castings without success so far. Will look for older Dart castings now too, thanks guys!
