Default Firestone drag 500

Whatever happened to the Firestone drag 500 slicks? How come they quit making them?

Not quite.

Firestone rebranded them as Firehawk's before they got out of the drag slick business. When they decided to get out of that market, a group of their former employees got together and purchased the molds from them. They started on their own as Phoenix shortly after.

I have a pair of like new 31x13 Firehawk's if anyone is interested. Cheap. Cheap as in get them out of my way.

And a "hidden benefit" of Phoenix radials. If you're using Hoosiers or M/T tires and struggling with radial wobble (as I was), a simple switch to Phoenix radials may eliminate the problem. I had gotten as far as I was going to get in "suspension tuning" the problem out, and was then urged to talk with Mike Crutchfield; he almost guaranteed that the Phoenix tires would take the problem away, and they did, with no sacrifice in ET.
