Re: Sept 12 & 13th at Maple Grove Raceway - TS & TD Shootout
Looking like the NHRA D1 race at Maple Grove will be a go on September 25-27th, for those wondering about this weekend and can trailers be left at the track....
Yes they can be: #1 - You will have to fill out a form at the base of the tower #2 - You will have to move the trailer by the tech barn, beats having to tow it back home and having to pay the tolls again. So yet another reason to come out and hang with us this weekend! |

Re: Sept 12 & 13th at Maple Grove Raceway - TS & TD Shootout
Results from the Inaugural .90 Nationals and Top Sportsman / Dragster Shootout at the Grove.
In total we had 26 TD and 16 TS show up and even with lower then expected numbers we still paid out $2,500 to the winner in each class. John Taylor and his company Mid-Atlantic Chemical threw up an additional $500 to Sundays winners in both classes. Bobby Vojtila, Ken & Debbie Moses threw together a special High-Roller TD /TS Shootout Race Saturday Night. This was run similar to how the Pro Comp Class is run out in D7, so dragsters ran door cars till a winner was decided. Vojtila threw up an additional $500 to the winner in this event for Saturday Night. With 21 cars entered it came down to two dragsters in the final of Phil Mollichella (West Chester, Pa) and Greg Kelly (Hainesport, NJ) in the finals. Mollichella would take the victory on a hole-shot (.003 to .060) as Kelly was closer to his dial in of a 6.698 on his 6.69 dial but, Mollichella took the victory with a 7.133 on a 7.120 dial. In Top Sportsman Bill Janke (Newburgh, NY) took the Number 1 spot with a 6.548 at 217.14 in his brand-new Camaro. In the final though it was Dave Muller (Pennington, NJ) taking his 2000 Camaro to the final to match-up with Dave Miller (Canterbury, Ct) and his sharp 2000 S-10 pick-up. Muller mowed down the tree with a .004 reaction time to Millers .051 and legged it out to a 7.614 on the 7.58 dial to Miller’s 6.968 on the 6.94 dial. Turning our attention to Top Dragster Al Kenny (Kutztown, Pa) took the top spot with a 6.136 at a whopping 222.55mph. Kenny wasn’t done with claiming the top spot through as he found himself in the finals against Maple Grove Regular David Batchelor (Lebanon, Pa). At the flash of green Kenny took a big advantage (.015 to .056) and parlayed that into a 6.215 on the 6.20 dial to Batchelor’s 7.034 on the 7.02 dial. Thank you all that came out and attended this race, hope to have some news on something for 2021 very soon! |
