Tires?
So we are taking delivery of the new dragster here over the weekend and I am using the wheels and tires from my old car. The tires are shot, and will need to be replaced before we get to go racing whenever that may be. I ran Goodyears on the last dragster and they did good for us. I have new Goodyear fronts on the car, but since we have some down time, I was wondering what everyone is using? I was thinking of trying the MT's but hate to spend the $$$ if they are no different than what we have been using.

Re: Tires?
M/T #3183 X 8 compound is the tire you need and want on your dragster.

Re: Tires?
Like many things, everybody has their opinion on what tire is best. My question to you would be, if you have had good luck with your Goodyear tires, why would you want to change? I have been on Goodyears on my door car since '09. We bought a dragster in '13, and over the course of the first couple seasons, we tried all three major brands. We felt the Goodyear was the best and have stuck with them since. My opinion is stick with what you know works!

Re: Tires?
I have a super gas car with Hoosiers, but if this was me. I’d try the MTs. Dragsters are more forgiving about which tire to run, but there are a lot of people that changed from Goodyear to Hoosier to now MTs. Tire shake on the burnout is probably number one.
