Stock Classification
I know this is taboo around here but..... I'm going to run the Div2 Opens in my Camaro with the crate motor while I'm building my stocker motor, mostly for the grade points. Problem is I'm not positive on class or weight. It's a 330hp 350 motor. Car is an 87 Z28. Thanks for any help.

Re: Stock Classification
Somebody with experience in CM combinations will probably chime in but if not I’d contact Danny Waters (on FB). He’s doing D2 tech and will no doubt be at the Atlanta D2 event and could class you there.

Re: Stock Classification
Jamie you have to use the heaviest 87 camaro weight 3232 and the 330hp crate motor was refactored to 334hp that means factor is 9.68. So you would run H/CM with index of 11.95 or 7.75

you better save your money, Good Heads and intake will run 5 to 7 thousand. Otherwise you'll get killed by the other cars in your class. Good luck ! |

Re: Stock Classification
Jamie, don't let them scare you. We have the good heads and intake nowhere near that much and goes plenty fast. We use Reid's in Massachusetts, fast stuff and fair prices.

Re: Stock Classification
Nobody scares me. The combo I'm using can go from F to J with nothing but a cam swap. And the intake only flows air so no real secrets there. Already have heads lined up that were on a pretty fast firebird. Also my Dad and Brother have been in stock for most of my 41 years. Not new to the game. When I wasn't helping them I was bracket racing, winning track championships and big money races. Intimidation doesn't work with me lol. And just a bit of honesty..... I'm about tired of people trying to scare off new people from coming to Stock. Won't be long and there won't be anybody left. Sorry, off my soap box now

Re: Stock Classification
I'll echo what Lee said, not sure I got much more than 7k in my whole motor and I think it runs pretty decent. It's not a 69 Camaro so it's not that expensive which you already know. Let me know if you need anything buddy, see you soon although I won't be at Atlanta as I have to have surgery on Monday so I don't believe I will be cleared by Thursday lol.

Re: Stock Classification
Mack I sure hope that's the case but unfortunately my Dr tells me I'm going to need about 10 days recovery but I've never been known to follow orders very good!
